Approach to Arbitration
I approach each matter with the goal of providing a fair, efficient, and well-managed process appropriate to the dispute. I believe arbitration works best when the tribunal is prepared, engaged, and proactive in moving the case toward resolution without unnecessary cost or delay.
Efficient Case Management
I work with counsel at the outset to establish procedures and schedules appropriate to the size and complexity of the dispute. I favor focused information exchange, realistic deadlines, and prompt resolution of procedural issues so that the parties can concentrate on the matters that will ultimately determine the case.
Fair Process
Each party should have a full and fair opportunity to present its case. I place particular importance on careful preparation, impartiality, respect for counsel and parties, and procedures that are both efficient and consistent with due process.
Practical Commercial Perspective
More than 35 years as a commercial lawyer, together with substantial board and business experience, have given me a practical understanding of how businesses operate and how commercial disputes arise. I bring that perspective to complex contractual, corporate, financial, and cross-border disputes.
